Lauren Seabrook is a national Edward R. Murrow Award-winning, two-time regional Edward R. Murrow award-winning and a two-time Emmy-nominated reporter who joined the WFTV team in June 2016. Lauren comes to Orlando after working as an investigative reporter at KWCH in Wichita, Kansas. During Lauren’s time in Kansas, she uncovered corruption in local police departments, and her stories were nominated twice for Emmy awards. Those stories and her coverage of devastating tornadoes in Kansas and Oklahoma won several Kansas Association of Broadcasters awards. Her National Murrow Award for "investigating reporter" came from an investigation in which she uncovered a police chief's history of being fired several times and hiring officers with similar backgrounds. It revealed a problem with the vetting process of small town police departments hiring officers who had a history of being fired from other departments. The second Regional Murrow tells a story of a former FBI agent who was the first to identify Timothy McVeigh as the Oklahoma City bombing suspect. Before Wichita, Lauren worked in Topeka, Kansas as the main anchor and a reporter at KSNT/KTKA. Her reports on northeast Kansas parents who were the first to get their adopted children out of Haiti after the 2010 earthquake gained national attention. Lauren introduced the family to the country live on CNN’s Headline News. Lauren is a native Oklahoman who enjoys living in the Sunshine State and being close to the beach. She’s a diehard University of Oklahoma Sooner fan and loves the Oklahoma City Thunder. Lauren finished her first half-marathon in 2015 and has taken up boxing since moving to Florida.
